LightStim Red Light Therapy

Experience wellness in a New Light

Beauty and physical well-being come from the inside out. LightStim united the power of light with the beauty of technology and created the first ever LED Bed that promotes total body wellness and peak physiological function.

What is Red Light Therapy?
The LightStim LED Bed is the first, full body photobiomodulation (in the form of a bed) to receive over-the-counter FDA Clearance. It is cleared by the FDA for temporary relief of muscle and joint pain, arthritic pain and stiffness (because it reduces inflammation throughout the entire body), muscle soreness and spasm, and increased blood flow, which is the body’s natural way of aiding the healing process by bringing oxygen and nutrients to the areas of pain.

How Does LightStim (Photobiomodulation) Work?
LightStim’s Multiwave®, patented technology simultaneously emits multiple wavelengths (colors) of light. This combination of red and infrared light work together to stimulate an increase in blood circulation and reduction of inflammation. The process does not work by heat. It works because our cells contain “chromophores” which literally absorb light. Once the light is absorbed, it sets off a complex group of physical and chemical reactions within the cell. These reactions can and do extend to cells that have not even been exposed to the light. All the effects of this process have so far been positive and beneficial, providing your body the opportunity to innately relieve pain, expedite healing and promote total body regeneration down to the cellular level.

Beyond that, the benefits of the 630nm, 660nm, 850-855nm and 940nm wavelengths and LightStim’s patented MultiWave® used in the LED Bed are many and are backed by numerous clinical studies. They include: Two of the four wavelengths used in the Bed are the same that are in LightStim’s FDA Cleared device for wrinkles, which build collagen and elastin to help reduce wrinkles and tighten the skin. This is accomplished with LED by feeding the cells the exact wavelengths of light, which they convert to ATP, (adenosine triphosphate) the fuel that the cell uses to “do its job”. Other wavelengths of the Bed release Nitric Oxide (NO) in the body.

Benefits of the LightStim Bed

• Increase the cell’s production of the body’s fuel source, ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate)
• Releases Nitric Oxide
• Reduces high blood pressure
• Builds collagen
• Reduces inflammation and increases circulation
• Relieves muscle, joint and arthritic pain
• Minimizes appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles
• Helps regulate your immune system and fights infection
• Stimulates hair growth
• Accelerate wound healing, reduce bruising, redness and swelling
• Protect against cardiovascular disease, heart attacks and strokes
• Prevent damage to cells caused by free radicals
• Treats mild to moderate acne
• Decrease exercise induced muscle fatigue
• Improve post-exercise recovery and promote muscle regeneration
• Release endorphins to inhibit pain
• Protect skin from UV damage
• No negative side effects

Nitric Oxide (the miracle molecule)

One of the most dramatic aspects of red light therapy is its triggering of the release of nitric oxide, often called the "miracle molecule". Nitric oxide is the body’s natural vasodilator - it widens the blood vessels and capillaries. After just 20 minutes of red light therapy, blood flow is increased to nerves and other tissues, and this boost in local circulation lasts for several hours. Nitric oxide is also a messenger molecule that triggers healing processes in the body. By increasing the production of nitric oxide, infrared, red and blue LED light therapy increases circulation, speeds healing and relieves pain. Other benefits may include improved delivery of nutrients to cells, improved immunity and neurotransmission.

Anti-Aging: Collagen and so much more!

Increase vascularity (circulation):
By increasing the formation of new capillaries that replace damaged one's circulation is improved. New capillaries speed up the healing process by carrying more oxygen as well as more nutrients needed for healing and they can also carry more waste products away.

Stimulate the production of collagen:
Collagen is the most common protein found in the body. Collagen is used to repair damaged tissue and to replace old tissue. It is the substance that holds cells together and has a high degree of elasticity. By increasing collagen production less scar tissue is formed at a wound or incision.

Stimulate the release of adenosine triphosphate (ATP):
ATP is the major carrier of energy to all cells. Increases in ATP allow cells to accept nutrients faster and get rid of waste products more quickly by increasing the energy level in the cell. All food turns into ATP before the cells utilize it. ATP provides the chemical energy that drives the chemical reaction of the cell.

Increase lymphatic system activity:
Edema is the swelling or natural splinting process of the body. Edema has two basic components: the first is a liquid part, which can be evacuated by the blood system, and the second is comprised of the proteins that have to be evacuated by the lymphatic system. Research has shown that the lymph vessel diameter and the flow of the lymph system can be doubled with the use of light therapy. The venous diameter and the arterial diameters can also be increased. This means that both parts of edema (liquid and protein) can be removed at a much faster rate to relieve swelling.

Reduce the excitability of nervous tissue:
The photons of light energy enter the body as negative ions. This calls upon the body to send positive ions, like calcium among others, to go to the area being treated. These ions assist in firing the nerves thereby relieving pain.

Stimulate fibroblastic activity that aids in the repair process:
Fibroblasts are present in connective tissue and are capable of forming collagen Stimulate fibroblastic activity that aids in the repair process.

Increase phagocytosis:
The process of scavenging for an ingesting dead or degenerated cells by phagocyte cells for the purpose of clean up. This is an important part of the infection-fighting process. Destruction of the infection and clean up must occur before the healing process can take place.

Induce a thermal like effect in the tissue:
The light raises the temperature of the cells through a photochemical reaction.

Stimulate tissue granulation and connective tissue projections:
Part of the healing process of wounds, ulcers or inflamed tissues.

Stimulate acetylcholine release:
Acetylcholine causes cardiac inhibition, vasodilation, gastrointestinal peristalsis, and other parasympathetic effects.
